Our server was quite knowledgeable about the beer. I recommend SatanΓ’β¬β’s Pony, but there are so many good ones to chose from. My burger was huge and delicious, and the fries are so good. We had to take leftovers home. And again, the attentive service made this a great experience.

The pizza is really good. One of the folks in our party had the Chicken Theopolis and I wish IΓ’β¬β’d ordered that. Its also massive so made for left overs for lunch the next day. The calamari, which had an orange glaze, was the best calamari IΓ’β¬β’ve ever had (several others in our party said the same thing) which I did not expect at a brewery far from the ocean. Only downside is you get far fewer calamari then is typical in other restaurants. DonΓ’β¬β’t get the spinach artichoke dip, it was brownish, didnΓ’β¬β’t taste like it was supposed to and several in our party would not eat it. Beer selection is vast but the name of the place would tell you that. BBQ sandwich was good, not the best IΓ’β¬β’ve had but IΓ’β¬β’d definitely get it again. Sweet potato fries were also very good.

Went here with my friends to get brunch. The waiter was very friendly and the food was delicious. We had a great time with nice music playing in the background.

The beer was great! They make flights easy. Excellent food as well. More than bar food. I recommend their grilled cheese sandwich. I look forward to going back and trying more food. 🀀

Delicious food with options for all. Beer is decent, prices are meh. I ordered a flight and wasn't able to choose my beers, which is a turnoff for a beer lover like me.

Stopped in on a Monday I think. Certainly worth a return trip. The bill was well within reason for the quality. Mood here reminds me of Colorado Springs area.

Fun spot with a good selection of beers. Nice staff, the bar is a great place to sit back and enjoy a cold one

Great daily specials and a wide variety of beers. Food was good. The staff was helpful and friendly. The bartender, Allison, was very knowledgeable and offered great suggestions.

I'm part of a group of swing dancers that went to the old South Street Brewery for years before they were bought by Blue Mountain. After the reopening we tried returning and found the changes mixed. The beer did improve, but we didn't find that enough to outweigh the cons: The food became much more expensive, the new furniture feels like being in an IKEA magazine, and the late-night staff are unwelcoming. Despite the fact that we were regularly bringing 10-16 people in our party every Wednesday night, they would routinely turn us away an hour before their posted closing time because of slow business. When they did let us in, the servers would usually ignore us while they cleaned the restaurant. We all miss the old South Street.

Great food, awesome brews and nice servers. The only issue is parking around this area.

Best brewery in town. Great fun last night. my friend suggested this place and turns out to be the best place for Fine Dine and booze. Food was delicious with great variety of beer selection.Had a blast here and would love to visit again.

My husband and I stopped at South St. Brewery for drinks and dinner. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We decided to try the bar pretzel. Be prepared: it was s meal in itself! It comes with sweet pickles, ale cheese and beer mustard. It was delicious! My husband had the pulled pork sandwich with a side salad, which were very tasty. I had a salad to offset the pretzel and it was also quite good. My husband had a beer flight which was very good. I tried a new wine called Quattro, which was a blend of 4 different wines. It was an excellent mix. I will actually keep an eye out for it! Good beer, good food and good service. Great combination!

Went for dinner. The pork wanchos were amazing. And we had a pizza that was more than enough for the 2 of us. And of course the beer was great. The Peoples DIPA and The Dolly (blonde stout) were my favorites.

I've only been to South Street Brewery a few times, but it's quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in Charlottesville. On my first visit, I had the Sicilian pizza, and it might be the best pizza I've ever had. The crust was crispy, the meat and sauce were flavorful, and the peppers were perfectly spicy. Combined with the fried cheese curds as an appetizer, it's one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The next time it got even better, with a rotisserie chicken meal and spinach dip, both of which were excellent. The menu is small but pretty varied, and based on my experience so far, I can't wait to explore it more thoroughly. My only complaint is the waiting times, which can be a little long, but other than that, I can't recommend South Street Brewery enough.

Twelve beer flight (3 oz?) for $12?! Awesome. And I enjoyed 10 of the 12 they had on tap. My wife and I had a sandwich and salad respectively - both very good. And the service was excellent. Overall it turned out to be a great choice for dinner.

DIPA was so good and food was made to your liking. Well done South Street and thank you!

Really nice bar and restaurant. Clean. New. Cool fireplace. The service on a Monday for lunch was excellent. The place was empty.

We chose South Street Brewery for our rehearsal dinner and could not be happier with our choice. Even though they donΓ’β¬β’t typically do rehearsal dinners, they did a wonderful job of taking care of our family and friends, accommodating us and providing an incredible meal with great service. Working with Seth was such a breeze- he put a great deal of time and effort into creating a wonderful experience for us and our guests. We highly recommend them!

Incredible place. Beers are great, of course. Plenty of variety plus wines available for not so beer-folks. I only had an appetizer but based on that; the presentation and taste, the food is excellent. You can see the kitchen from the bar area. Highly recommended if youre going for a brew tour or even just a quick. One of my favorites!

Stopped by this place after hitting Three Notch'd nearby. So, the beers are definitely more affordable here. No outdoor dining. Big large cavernous restaurant (not meant negatively, just normal brewery decor, if a little upgraded). Quickly seated and given water and appetizer....but then waited 15 minutes for them to come back for our beer order (which we kind of would have liked with our wings). Wings were great, the burger and fries were also really flavorful. They had a great variety (13+) of their beers and we thought they were good, but preferred Three Notch'd for flavor and uniqueness. Overall we had a great visit and enjoyed the food/ beer, but if we had to only go to one place, we would pay a little bit more to sit outside at Three Notch'd and their slightly better beers/ food.

Great beer. Nice place and I am glad that I have been here. Service was nice and I am happy with overall experience. Food was delicious hot and fresh. I enjoyed a lot and I will definitely come back.

Very friendly staff with decent beers.

Went with my family (group of 6) and only ordered food, so I canΓ’β¬β’t speak to the beer. Giving it a 3 because the service was quite slow, food was not warm when brought to the table and they werenΓ’β¬β’t busy. The positive is that their French fries are GREAT!

The restaurant was under staffed for a Saturday night with a sold out concert at JPJ. It took us longer than it should have to be seated. Once we ordered, they didnΓ’β¬β’t listen to any requests of the table and brought everything out as it was listed on the menu so we had to send things back to the kitchen. It was super annoying to deal with that once we had to wait so long for a table and were starving. The beer as always, was excellent and the food was good once it was made correctly. I would go back in hopes that the service would be better because I love the beer.

Excellent 12-CB flight for $13(not $12 as shown on the menu). CBs are brewed there.

Good location, just a short walk from the downtown mall. Good range of beer and bar staff gave good recommendations - particularly enjoyed the Hard PG sour fruit ale.

Yummy food, good beer, great service. I go often, both at the bar in a small group and at tables in a big group, always a good experience. I've only gone during the weekday, though.

Veggie wontons were fantastic and were taller than the meat version. Really nice ambiance and quality interior.

Nice brewery nestled in the charm of downtown Charlottesville. The beer was pretty good and the descriptions were pretty accurate. Their sours and stouts were excellent, IPAs and other pale ales were okay. Food was tasty and served in healthy portions. I'd like to go back someday.

The Wanchos!!! Amazing. Wish we were local so we could come back. The beers were great and the service was top notch.

Since South Street was acquired by the owners of Blue Mountain Brewery (also a must visit by the way) it has been given a rebirth, and a whole new level of beers to enjoy. The character of what made South Street great has not been lost, only enhanced. And the food is on another stratospheric level!

Great selection of beer good food and great service. Highly recommend if you are in Charlottesville and enjoy craft beer.

Good wings and great beer.. they also donΓ’β¬β’t short you on dipping sauce for the wings.

Nice place with friendly staff. Good cheese curds and we got the full flight which came outnpretty quick. Stop by again. If around.

Came for $2 beers on happy hour, stayed for the great beer with friends. I had a glass of their lemon shandy and a glass of their Virginia lager, both of which were excellent. The bar staff was very attentive and made sure that my friends and I always had either a beer or a water in front of us. I highly recommend this establishment.

Love South Street. Friendly staff, great beers.

We enjoyed our beers, but had to wait a long time both at the bar and at our table. They have vegan options (tofu on a salad and veggy pita) that were both very bland, and the veggy chilli was decent. They have a fireplace with boardgames and brick, but it doesn't match the vibe of the rest of the restaurant which has tile floors and metal.

It was very hard not to dig in, before I got the pictures taken.

Our server was prompt, knowledgeable and kind. Service was a bit slow, but we were enjoying ourselves so we didn't mind. Overall, great place, delicious beers and even better food. Highly recommend!!

Since everywhere was closed on the 4th, this was our last chance at having a good lunch. We were blown away with the meal! Unfortunately they were out of pork which meant we were unable to order the meat and cheese platter and the famous nachos. Ultimately we ordered a 2 for $10 lunch combo (salad and chicken Alfredo), a hush puppies appetizer, a pot roast sandwich with fries, a half flight, and a glass of sparkling wine. The flavors really surprised us. Every bit of our meal was delicious and left us satisfied. The service was great and the interior decor was very appealing and attractive. Though a little pricey, we will definitely be returning soon to pig out again.

This brewery is wonderful! It's a great place to stop wither it be for a quick drink or a full meal. The beer rotates quickly/seasonally and all of the food is delicious (and I'm not just saying that). It's a warm and inviting atmosphere which is easily able to accommodate different social settings (bar seats, tables, hightops, booths, and couches by a fire). Also has friendly and knowledgeable staff.
John Farrell
Nice place, friendly staff. Check out the beer flight and pick your favorite. Bruschetta pizza was tasty.
Zach Gordon
Good beer and great service. Very casual but nice. Took family with 2 kids. Enjoyed the acoustic kitty beer. Solid choice for one night in Charlottesville with family.

Just went in for the beer. Great selection of all different styles of beer. Will be going back to try more.

Surprisingly decent prices for the downtown location. We stopped in for a flight and received excellent service. Had we known they served food, we may have changed our dinner plans - but that's a good reason to stop in again. The food we did see coming from the kitchen looked might good.A little disappointed in the Satan's Pony swag - come on! You have a brew called Satan's Pony and you don't have lots of cool gear?
John Scott
Great beer! The tuna melt was pretty good but the cheeseburger and mushroom soup we're terrific. Very good service.
Steve Gregos
Great, cozy place to grab a bite to eat. Food is decent quality, but price is slightly higher than expected. Cheese curds are phenomenal.

Great staff behind the bar. The strawberry stout was a pleasant surprise. The garden sipper has an amazing aroma thanks to the fresh basil. It has a nice, mellow atmosphere although I think we may have been there on a slower night.
